Foreign students who would like to enroll at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, but do not have sufficient German language skills to enter a degree program in their chosen field, can acquire the necessary language proficiency in preparatory German courses. These courses prepare the student for the language proficiency test (Deutsche Sprachprüfung, DSH), which is an admission requirement to enter a degree program of the university.

The University of Erlangen-Nuremberg cannot offer German language courses for beginnners. Therefore basic language skills (Level B1) must be obtained before applying to the university. If you do not have any opportunity to acquire elementary language skills in your home country, you may attend a private language school in Erlangen or Nuremberg. Please inquire about dates of courses and prices directly at the school you are interested in.
